Please follow these guidelines when making a submission to Logan Live!

Announcements

To make the announcement you submit to Logan Live most effective, follow the
AIDA (Attention, Interest, Details, Action) formula:

Your first sentence should be an Attention-getter that will encourage your targeted audience to focus on what is coming up.
Next, make it clear why your targeted audience should be Interested in your announcement.
Give some Details that will generate a desire on the viewer’s part about what you are offering.
End the announcement with a simple, clear Action the viewer should do.

Here’s an example event announcement:
Seniors, do you need money to pay for school after you leave Logan? You can win $1000 at the Cash for College Workshop. Learn how to apply and get free money for tuition, books and more. There will also be a drawing for a one thousand dollar scholarship. But you cannot win if you do not attend. Check your email for more details about the Cash for College Workshop and how you can win one thousand dollars!

Here’s how the Attention, Interest, Details, Action formula is followed
[A] Seniors, do you need money to pay for school after you leave Logan?
[I] You can win $1000 at the Cash for College Workshop.

Once you have written your announcement, read it out loud to check if it sounds like someone telling a friend about something they should find interesting. Make any changes necessary, then check to make certain all spelling and punctuation is correct.

If you are submitting images with your announcement, indicate with numbers where they should appear:

Achievement Announcements

When you want to share a special achievement, start a summary of what was achieved, the follow it with the names and specific honors earned by the people involved.  End with a summary comment.

Here is an an example that includes photos that follow the images guidelines:

Members of the Logan Film Club have been honored for their moviemaking skills. [1] Seniors Jim Shoes and Rita Book have won second prize in the Bay Area Young Filmmakers competition. [2] The 7 minute movie “Home but Not Alone” was among one thousand entries from local high school students. [3] You can see their film at Logan TV dot net. [4] Congratulations to these future Hollywood producers.

After you have completed your announcement’s final draft, use the Logan Live Submissions form to send your announcement and related images to the show staff.

Images

Images add more impact to announcements you submit, but any images you submit must be appropriate for video. Their shape (aspect ratio) should be 16:9, the size should be either 1280×720 or 1920×1080, and the format should use either the .jpg or .png file type. Follow this tutorial to use a free online tool to prepare photos and create graphics for use on Logan Live!

Video Clips

If you have a video you would shown on Logan Live it must meet these standards:

The file format should be .mp4 with a resolution of either 1280×720 or 1920×1080. Make sure any element used in the video (images, clips) has an original resolution of at least 1280×720.

You must have permission from the copyright holder for all elements used within the video, including any music.  If everything in the video was created by students involved in your project, they are most likely the copyright holders.  However, if the video incorporates non-Logan sources of photos, graphics, music or other performances (including a student recording of a song written by someone else), you must provide proof that permission has been obtained from the copyright holder.

Because videos need to be reviewed by both technical and content standards, they should be submitted as far in advance as possible from the date they are intended to be shown on Logan Live.  This is to ensure that any modifications to the video, if needed, can be made in time.

Please note: If your video is intended to promote an upcoming event, follow the AIDA formula as described in the Announcements guidelines.
